I was looking at my university magazine when I found a little announce on accommodation in Paris!
Even better, the guy who is organising it is a PhD student here who WENT to the uni in Paris that I want to go to! Fricking amazing.
I love good co-incidences.
Just sent him an email, talking about how I'm also a staff member, blah blah blah, TELL ME ABOUT IT!
Les recollets Website: http://www.centre-les-recollets.com/menu.asp?l=gb&m=3
I've also just looked at the website and it gives prices. Exxy, but probably easier than going through all the french paperwork, which exists because this is France.
A flat of 25m^2 is 705.30 € for a month's rent as far as I can tell.
At the moment that equals (according to Google) = $960.27
WHY IS EVERYTHING SO EXPENSIVE!
For Mid-August to end of January = 5.5 months.
Total Rent: $960.27 x 5.5 = $5281.49
Lucky I have about $11,000 saved up already!
Hopefully the exchange rate will change in my favour.
Ok so if return flights are $2000 to Paris...then I have 11,000-5,281.49-2,000=$3,718.51.
Hmm so that only means I have $676.09/month.
I'd better save up more then...
